Centenary Celebrations 2019
Established in 1919, Dandenong High School is one of the oldest, largest and most culturally diverse Secondary Schools in the state. In 2019, we will celebrate a significant milestone not only for the school, but for education across the state with our 100th anniversary. This will be an important opportunity to celebrate the history and achievements of the school over the past 100 years.
The following recommendations have been endorsed by School Council:
Term 2: 10th anniversary of the opening of the Houses to be recognised with a school based ceremony attend by leaders, staff, students, parents and special guests.
Term 4: 100th anniversary to be recognised with a series of events in the week of the centenary of the laying of the Foundation Stone (21st November 1919).
Thursday 21st November: a school based ceremony attend by leaders, staff, students, parents and special guests
Saturday 23rd November: school based open day for the community to attend the school with displays, performances and tours
Saturday 23rd November: Celebration Evening
Along with these events, there will be further opportunities to celebrate the anniversary and further details will be provided in early 2019
