The House Chorals was held on Thursday 25th June and for the first time they were held in the Martin Culkin Theatre. Each House had been practicing for many weeks and the whole school community were looking forward to one of the school highlights of the year. By 7.30pm the whole of the theatre was completely full and the evening was introduced by the Music Subject Learning Leader, Ms. Sheridan Ford who introduced the three judges, Ms Yvonne Neal, Mr. Bob Wijnschenk and Ms. Staci Sargent and the Principal. Mrs. Ogden then formally opened the evening through her address.
Each House presented their own song and then had to sing the set song ”Ain’t no mountain high enough” by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrel. The audience was held spellbound by the presentations of each house and certainly showed their enjoyment by the generous applause at the end of each song. While the judges worked on their final winner and placings the audience were entertained by the school Gospel Choir who sang two songs. Finally the judges indicated that they had made their decision and came to the microphone to give their adjudicators remarks. The final result was a win to Grevillea House who were ably led by their House Captains Wendy Shao and Mani T Thevar. They were presented with the Shield by Mrs. Dawn Harris (Ex-Students Association) and Ms. Sheridan Ford.
The whole School Community would like to thank Mr Shane Davies and Ms. Sheridan Ford, all those students who had given up their time to rehearse, the teachers who rehearsed the students, Mr. Roy Christoffelsz, the designers of the program and our School Captains Rebekah Parker and Brandon Lee.
