All students develop their musicianship skills by participation in school ensembles, performances and concerts. (Woodwind, Brass and Orchestral String Instruments only, are available for hire.)

Music Events The Music Department at DHS prepare and present annual events such as a House Chorals Competition and a Performing Arts Gala. These opportunities provide an authentic learning experience for students, and allow DHS to connect with parents and the wider community.

The DHS Ex- Students Association offers The Edna Dawson Vukmirovic Music Scholarship each year. Criteria used to select students include technical ability and musicality on instrument, potential for growth, attendance and attitude at regular instrumental lessons, participation in DHS music ensembles and leadership potential. Scholarship is by audition only.
